Ericksonian Hypnosis is at the origin of « focus-oriented therapy », an approach where the desired change (and not only the cause of the problem) is put in the centre of attention. It’s a pragmatic, strategic approach centred on change.

In therapy, hypnotic states exist as levers for the desired therapeutic action. The accompaniment is oriented by the person that you are and what you want to obtain and not what would please the hypnotherapist.

All have already lived hypnotic states…when lacking in attention, dreaming, reading, watching a film… A hyper-conscious state is also a hypnotic state. No need to get lost or to forget oneself in a modified state of consciousness.

It is a totally naturel way of being. Everyone can be hypnotised and learn self-hypnosis. Hypnosis, because it invites our sub-conscious mind to be more present and opens access to deep down resources. We consider that the unconscious mind is a pool of resources that may be discovered and used.

The unconscious mind is formed throughout life and through a variety of experiences.  It is the guardian of our equilibrium. The unconscious mind can preserve our mental balance but is not always a good builder. So, at some times of life, when we decide to change we may find that it is very difficult to do so and, maybe even, impossible. A dialogue with the unconscious mind can help to restore a certain balance that satisfies equally the conscious and unconscious mind.

The art of Ericksonian Hypnosis is to benefit from the unconscious state to open up to well-being. It may be used for numerous reasons… psychotherapy, food behaviour, pain control, insomnia, anxiety, to increase performance or personal development
